Selena Gomez may be dating The Weeknd but that reportedly hasn't stopped her former boyfriend, Justin Bieber, from reaching out.

Although they haven't been an item for some time, Bieber has reportedly made a habit of reaching out to the "Bad Liar" singer during hard times.

"He actually called Selena several times when he decided to cancel his tour... He said he wants to spend time with old friends and rest," a source told In Touch Weekly magazine on August 2.

According to the report, Bieber has become overwhelmed by fame in recent months and when it comes to the attention he receives, he reportedly has a love/hate relationship with the media and because of that, he's recommitted himself to his Christian faith.

"In the last two weeks, Justin has told close friends that he’s rethinking his life and wants to 'follow a new path.' He talks about God nonstop," the source said. "He does need some rest, but people in his camp also think something’s up... One minute Justin’s praying and the next minute he’s partying. He’s all over the place and is a nightmare to deal with."

"Justin’s mom [Pattie Mallette] and manager [Scooter] are worried sick that Justin may not be thinking properly,” the insider said, "but they both support his decision to take time off."

Bieber announced he was canceling the remaining dates of his Purpose World Tour last month.

As for Gomez, she's released two new tracks in recent months, including "Bad Liar" and "Fetish" and soon, she may release an entire album. Meanwhile, her relationship with The Weeknd appears to be going strong.

Gomez and The Weeknd confirmed their relationship in Los Angeles in January.
