Luann de Lesseps and husband Tom D'Agostino are calling it quits and according to a new report, he "was the one who really wanted out" of the marriage.

Following the Real Housewives of New York City's Twitter announcement regarding her plans for divorce, a source claims D'Agostino wanted out of the marriage due to De Lesseps' reality career.

"He is the same person he was when Luann met him. He likes to go out and talk to people, but also wanted to live a private life with Luann," the insider told Us Weekly magazine on August 3. "Tom couldn't handle the reality TV lifestyle. He was waiting for the hamster wheel to stop after filming, but it did not."

"Tom is a very private person," the source continued. "He's very close with his family and he can give a presentation to thousands of people, but hates having a camera in his face."

That said, D'Agostino wishes De Lesseps the best as they go their separate ways after just seven months of marriage.

"He truly loves Luann and wishes her the best," the insider added.

De Lesseps made her divorce announcement earlier today on Twitter.

"It's with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce," she wrote. "We care for each other very much, hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!"

De Lesseps' divorce confirmation came after weeks of rumors regarding their impending split.
