Reports surfaced that college football player A.J. McCarron may have cheated on his girlfriend Katherine Webb, who shot to fame after she was called out by an ESPN announcer during one of his games.

Bikini model Margaret Wood revealed in a June 8 interview that she spent the night at McCarron's Tuscaloosa home. According to her version of events, he asked her to stay overnight after a night of drinking with a group of mutual friends. Webb, 24, was in Los Angeles attending the Spike TV Guy Choice Awards in Los Angeles that same night.

"We were hanging out at his house, and I had been drinking, so he didn't want me to drive," Wood told Radar Online. "I did not stay at a hotel."

Wood said she ended up hanging out with McCarron, 22, after she missed a connecting flight to Memphis, Tenn. and ended up in Alabama. She met up with their mutual friends in Tuscaloosa and the college football star joined them. She said she decided to go drinking because she felt emotional about a recent split with an athlete boyfriend.

"I was having a really bad day," Wood said. "The guy I was dating, Aaron Judge, who just got drafted for the Yankees, and I had just broken up. My connecting flight to Memphis was cancelled so I was drinking in Tuscaloosa with some friends and AJ met up with us."

When Wood was asked by the reporter to divulge more details about her night at his home, she answered, "That's all I can say" and "I'm trying to be careful about what I say because I feel really bad."

"A.J. and I are just friends," she added. "People are blowing this out of proportion."

Wood said she met McCarron last fall, months before he began dating Webb in December.

"I've known A.J. for a long time," Wood shared. "He asked for my number back in the fall when I was on the sidelines at the Ole Miss-Alabama game. I didn't even know who he was. I had no idea he was even talking to Katherine. I thought he was cute."

The bikini and lingerie model, who is currently in a contest for Maxim magazine, said learned about Webb when the infamous ESPN live telecast became national news in January. She was making plans to visit McCarron at the time and Wood said she met up with the athlete, but McCarron never mentioned his girlfriend.

"We don't talk about her when we're hanging out," Wood revealed.

Webb became a star overnight after an announcer pointed her out and paid her compliments during the BCS National Championship Game between Alabama and Notre Dame on Jan. 7. During the live televised broadcast, Brent Musburger, 73, publicly called Webb a "lovely lady" and a "beautiful woman" while more than 16 million viewers were tuned in.

"You see that lovely lady there, that's A.J. McCarron's girlfriend," Musburger announced. "Wow! I'm telling you, you quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. Honest. What a beautiful woman....Whoa! So if you're a youngster in Alabama, start getting a football out and throw it around with pops."

She has since appeared in Sports Illustrated 2013 Swimsuit Issue and appeared on ABC's Splash, a celebrity high dive competition and reality show. She also reported on this year's Super Bowl coverage for Inside Edition.
