Jennifer Carpenter, 'Dexter' Star, Had Alleged Affair With Rocker Seth Avett Ending His Marriage & Causing Divorce? [VIDEO]
Jennifer Carpenter reportedly had a hand in ruining a marriage after hers to Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall ended, Radar Online reported Tuesday.
The 33-year-old actress has allegedly been involved with married folk-rock singer Seth Avett. He is a member of The Avett Brothers and has been married to his wife Susan since 2008. Sources claimed that Carpenter and Avett began seeing each other in 2011 after her marriage to co-star Hall ended.
Carpenter plays Debra Morhan on the Showtime series and was wed to Hall for two years. They finalized their divorce in December of 2011.
"Shortly after Jennifer's split with Michael, she began seeing Seth. She would fly all over to his concerts to be with him," the source said.
Those close to Avett told the website anonymously that they were surprised he would have an affair with the Dexter actress. The source added that Avett decided to leave his wife on Monday and ironically, the singer announced on his website Tuesday that he and his wife were breaking up.
"My wife and I have decided to end our marriage. We have been separated for some time. As I'm sure you will understand, this is a very difficult and painful time for us and our families," Avett wrote to his fans.
The source pointed out that Avett as of recent no longer sang January Wedding, an ode to his wife, at his shows. The last album that the Avett Brothers released was in September 2012 and entitled Carpenter.
"And the latest album released by The Avett Brothers is called The Carpenter. It's not a coincidence," the source said.
The alleged affair created a tension in the band, according to the news report.
"It was former band member Jacob Edwards and his wife that really put Seth on the spot for cheating. They didn't agree with it whatsoever and were uncomfortable with the situation," the source said.
The actress deleted all references to Avett and his band on her Twitter account. However, the website was able to capture the tweets before they were removed from her timeline. They can be viewed here.
