CBS' The Big Bang Theory recently ended its sixth stint on a high note, topping ABC's Modern Family as the No. 1 prime-time comedy in the 18-49 demographic category.

Appropriately so, the sitcom's loyalists have been stirring up chatter over the final two episodes of Season 6, which seemed to hone in on the topic of romance between its various characters.  One of the characters that's garnered an increasing amount of interest moving forward in that department is Raj (Kunal Nayyar), who recently spoke to a woman for the first time.

On June 7, Vulture spoke to Big Bang Theory executive producer Steve Molaro about Raj's revelation, and the opportunities that lie ahead for him.

"It's something we've been thinking about for a while; it's not the greatest situation [to have] a character who can only speak in front of women when he has alcohol in his hand. So it's a moment of growth for him.  What I particularly enjoy is that it didn't happen in an episode where it's 'Hey, let's fix Koothrappali.'  It came from him falling in love [with Lucy] as opposed to 'let's get him to a psychiatrist or on medicine and give him these weird side effects," he explained.

Although no airdate has yet to be officially been announced, CBS' Big Bang Theory is slated to make its return at some point in the fall.  Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular TV series.  Check out a behind-the-scenes video from the show below!
