Season 10 of Grey's Anatomy will include the 200th episode of the ABC medical drama revolving around the lives of the doctors walking the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
Grey's Anatomy writer Tony Phelan reminded viewers of the news via Twitter on June 7. He also revealed that the show's writers room has been shut down temporarily in order to give writers a break leading up to the start of production in over a month. Phelan promised, however, a "whole mess of drama" when the series returns in the fall.
Episode 4 of season 10 marks the 200th overall for Grey's Anatomy. The show's executive producer, Shonda Rhimes, said in a May interview that season 9 was the "season of romance" but that season 10 will be the "season of break-ups."
The latest season ended in May with Callie Torres finding out Arizona Robbins cheated on her with the hospital's newest doctor, played by former One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton. Meredith Grey gave birth to her first natural child with Derek Shepard after adopting Zola. During a blackout in the hospital, caused by a superstorm, Grey had a child she named Bailey after her mentor in the hospital: Miranda Bailey.
