Fans coming to the Lakers' home arena for a game will have to go through Jack Nicholson, a lesson Extra host Maria Menounos learned the hard way.

The television host told Conan O'Brien's show on Monday that she came up against Nicholson once, who was holding court (so to speak) at the Staples Center during the 2010 NBA Finals, when the Lakers played against the Boston Celtics. Menounos and comedian Dane Cook, both Bostonians and Celtics fans, were court side during Game 6.

That is, until Nicholson intervened.

"We made it our business, our second job, to go to all these games and really rally for our team," Menounos told Conan. "And all of a sudden -- we're courtside, I'm screaming, going crazy -- I get booted! These guys come and pull us out! I'm like, 'What is going on?'"

Menounos said she and Cook ended up in the exclusive Chairman's Lounge area of the arena, where they caught up with a smirking Nicholson on his way out of the bathroom.

"He's like, 'Heh, heh, heh, heh.' And I thought really quickly and I'm like, 'Oh my God, what if he...'" the Extra host said suspiciously. "And he's like, 'I see they moved your seat.' He got me kicked out! I heard later he called [late Lakers owner] Jerry Buss and had me removed!"

Nicholson wasn't the only Lakers-afilliated person Menounos has encountered while showing her Celtic pride. She said she once ran into veteran Lakers guard Kobe Bryant at an All-Star Game. Bryant, to his credit, was a bit more good-natured, Menounos recalled, and gave her props for being real about her home team affiliation.

"He was like, 'You know, I actually really respect you,' " she continued to O'Brien. " 'You really stick up for your team, and you're not scared in our territory to show your love'...He was cool."
