While American Idol continues to stall in its search for new judges, one source claims that Jennifer Lopez is defiantly not in the running, according to reports.

There have been rumors that Idol would be heading towards an alum filled judges table for their 13 th season. However, the loss of Fox's alternative programming president Mike Darnell along with the firing of Idol executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick, has left the show standing around while the bosses upstairs get reorganized.

In the hypothetical situation that does not involve a panel of all former competitors, there was speculation that Jennifer Lopez would return to her post as judge.

They're talking. Negotiations are in their infant stages, but they're underway to get her back to the judges' table," a source told Radar last week.

However, another source confided the complete opposite to E!.

"It's not happening," the source claimed.

For her part, JLo has maintained a middle ground while talking to the press, showing the decision could go either way.

"I don't know," Lopez said on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, according to E!. "We will see. I'm always open to the infinite possibilities that the universe has to offer. So you never know."

Idol execs have to decide if bringing back a former judge is smart move or if they should wipe the slate completely clean for a fresh new start.
