Katie Holmes is refusing to talk about her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, and according to a new report, it isn't due to an alleged divorce clause between them.

Instead, a source revealed, the actress is simply avoiding the topic in an effort to keep her 11-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise, protected.

“Suri has stopped missing him,” a source told Life & Style magazine on September 27. “Katie doesn’t want to bring up his name and have Suri start missing him all over again.”

According to the report, Cruise hasn't seen Suri since 2013, one year after he and Holmes ended their marriage after just six years.

"Katie is more adamant than ever about not talking about him, publicly or privately," the source continued, adding that Cruise's alleged involvement with the Church of Scientology hasn't helped their situation.

"With Tom missing from Suri’s life for so long, Katie believes her daughter has only distant memories of him," the source explained. "At this point, Katie doesn’t want to bring up his name and have Suri start longing to see Tom all over again. It would be too painful for both of them.”

In other Katie Holmes news, she and boyfriend Jamie Foxx are rumored to be engaged just weeks after going public with their romance.

“Katie has even worn the ring in front of friends,” the source said, “but she’s always denied that it was an engagement ring.”

“This is a dream come true for Katie," the insider added. "For years, she has wanted Jamie to be her husband and has wanted to give her daughter, Suri, a brother or sister — and now Jamie’s ready to give that all to her. Now she feels like all their time spent hiding was well worth it.”
