Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany Kerr, have returned to Las Vegas.

Following the deadliest shooting in U.S. history, Kerr spoke out on her Instagram page and shared a photo of herself and her country singer husband standing with their backs to the camera and the Mandalay Bay hotel in the distance.

"Feels surreal being back in Vegas today," Kerr wrote. "Visiting some of the strongest people we have ever met... fighting the toughest battle of them all... for their lives. You have helped us try to begin the healing process by seeing the strength each one of you have. Thank you for today. We will never forget. #vegasstrong."

When Stephen Paddock went on a crazed shooting spree from the 32nd story of the Mandalay Bay hotel, Aldean had just begun his show at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival and his wife, Kerr, was backstage.

After the shooting took place, Kerr took to her Instagram page and shared her thoughts about the terrifying incident, which took the lives of 59 people and injured hundreds more.

“It’s been hard to process what happened the other night … Still feel like I’m in a daze,” Kerr began. “When the gunfire started, I was not with Jason, but with some friends in a tent closer to Mandalay. As you can imagine, my first instinct was to run to him and his was the same.”

“As we laid behind equipment onstage with some of our road family, bullets flying past … all I could think was, ‘I never even got to hold my baby,’” she continued. “We all made sure the others knew we loved them and then ran for cover where we stayed for the next couple hours. (Not knowing if there were multiple shooters, where the bullets were coming from … Nothing) We were the lucky ones.”
