Wendy Williams might not be sending any congratulatory flowers to Angie Martinez after the radio host reportedly scored a pilot for a new talk show.

Williams, who also got her start in radio back in the day, is reportedly furious that Martinez is going the same route. Interestingly enough, Martinez’s rumored show will be under the same company as Williams’.

She and her husband are said to be upset. In fact, Williams’ first reaction was, “This is some bull!” after executives from the company, Debmar-Mercury, told her and her husband, Kevin Hunter, the news over lunch recently, according to The Jasmine Brand Thursday.
Williams also allegedly said, “I can’t believe [she’s] getting a show with them. This is such betrayal!”

Williams and Martinez’s feud became public after Williams called out Martinez on her website when they worked at New York City’s HOT 97 together in the 1990s.

She wrote, “One of my co-workers is dating Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest. Oh well. I guess some women like men who like men.”
At least that’s how Martinez remembered Williams’s words in her own book My Voice: A Memoir last year.

Martinez added, “Everybody was gay to Wendy. Every rapper you could think of in that era, I had heard Wendy Williams call them gay. Not one or two. Like every one of them.”

She went on to say that she challenged Williams, which led to the two getting physical with each other.

“I lost my mind. Before I knew it I was swinging at her. It was a quick scuffle. It took only a few seconds for me to realize that wasn’t really hitting me back – she was just trying to get me off of her.”

Another colleague stepped in and tried to separate the ladies. That’s when Williams grabbed a mop for backup.

“She just stood there with it like she wanted to have some sort of sword fight or something. It was actually kind funny, even in the moment.”

As for Williams, her show is currently in its ninth season and has already signed on to go through 2020.
