'Braxton Family Values' Cast: Toni Shuts Down Rumors She Secretly Married Birdman [VIDEO]
Toni Braxton has made it clear (via a representative) that she and record label executive Birdman did not get secretly married despite reports.
“Toni is dating,” a rep for the singer and reality star told Us Weekly Tuesday. “[She] has a new single called ‘Deadwood’ from her forthcoming album ‘Sex & Cigarettes. It will be released in early 2018.”
It looks like Braxton is focusing on her career instead of tying the knot with her longtime boyfriend in a private ceremony.
She and her rumored husband Birdman met nearly 15 years ago when they were on the song Baby You Can Do It together back in 1992. Dating rumors for the odd couple fueled when Birdman supported Braxton on her tour. He even made a few appearances on her family’s reality show, Braxton Family Values, on WeTV.
They seemed to confirm their relationship when they went to the BET Awards together in June 2016.
“Toni and Birdman spent some time together backstage,” an insider revealed to Us Weekly back then. “They were holding hands.”
While Birdman might seem like he’s a little too rough for Braxton’s image, her mother, Evelyn Braxton, was all for them sparking up a relationship.
“I think he’s a nice man,” she said during an interview with The Rickey Smiley Morning Show in June 2016. “I don’t care what others say about him. He’s a nice man. He’s full of respect.”
