The 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be held Sunday, June 16 EST on HLN and the major stars are getting red carpet ready.

ABC's  Good Morning America Sam Champion, HLN's  Showbiz Tonight A.J. Hammer and Robin Meade will be the hosts of this year's ceremony being held live from The Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles. Some of the presenters will be Corbin Bernsen and Jess Walton introducing the "in memoriam" which will feature the late Jeanne Cooper of The Young and the Restless. Wayne Brady will present game show Icon Monty Hall a legendary Lifetime Achievement Award while Betty White will give the same honor to producer Bob Stewart.

Soap opera heavyweights Don Diamont (Brad, B&B) and Erika Slezak (Viki, OLTL) will present the statues for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series and Outstanding Drama Series respectively. It was announced on Wednesday that the winners of the various categories would give their acceptance speeches in a new format. There will now be live on-stage interviews with the winners immediately after their acceptance speeches. This will be a first in award show history. Giada De Laurentiis, Sheryl Underwood, Julie Chen and Hammer will interview the winners following their time at the podium.

For many of the nominees, they were just happy to be nominated. This was especially true for Katherine Kelly Lang. The actress has played the character of Brooke Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful since the show began 26 years ago and only received her first nomination ever for Outstanding Supporting Actress this year.

"I don't want to get to excited. It's a nomination and that's great, but we're not there yet [laughs]. Just the fact that I got nominated feels really good. It feels like if I don't win, I'm okay because I feel that is part of winning-getting acknowledged," Lang said in the June 17 edition of Soap Opera Digest.

Similarly, Kristen Alderson was nominated for her portrayal of Starr Manning, a role she has played since she was a small child. She did not expected to receive a nod for Outstanding Younger actress since she has been looked over for the past 15 years.

"You know, after so many years of not getting nominated, I really had to make it not matter to me, but last year, it was really exciting because my brother [Eddie Alderson, ex-Matthew, OLTL] got nominated and I was just so thrilled for him and got to celebrate that," the ABC actress said in the June 17 issue of SOD.

Peter Bergman is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor for his role as Jack Abott on Y&R. He has already won three Emmy's in his career, but explained in the same issue of SOD that he did not take his latest nomination for granted. The actor explained that the feeling never got old.

"It's always good to be invited to the party. Is it the same excitement as when I got my very first nomination? Probably not, but it is still great news and a feather in your cap because it's a little stamp that says your peers thought you were one of the good ones," he said.

Michelle Stafford, a multiple winner for her role as Phyllis on Y&R, shared the same thoughts. She told the publication that there would be no prepared remarks if she won.

"You put your hat in the ring, there's my submission for the game, and then it's up to the Gods. You just enjoy it," Stafford said.
