Tamar Braxton made her very first public appearance since she filed for divorce from her now estranged husband, Vincent Herbert, last month. And she gave a statement in more ways than one.

Braxton’s red carpet appearance during the 2017 Soul Train Awards, Sunday night, marked her first public outing since she decided to pull the plug on her marriage in late October. She filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. She and Herbert, who is an all-star music executive, would have celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary this month. But instead, this month marks the first time Braxton has been spotted not wearing her wedding ring.

While she donned a gold sequence gown, auburn hair, plus a smile and kisses for the camera, one thing that was missing was her wedding ring. Instead, her ring finger on her left hand was left bare while nearly every other finger had a ring on it.

She shared the moment with her fans and followers on social media. This also marked one of the first times she has posted on Instagram since filing for divorce.

As for the post before that, Braxton belted out a song in the mirror and let fans know despite all of the changes, she’s still the same Tamar they fell in love with. “Some things change… when some remain the same. I’m TAMAR..Iam. I was. I’m stil…. #believeitornot…”

Braxton filed for divorce from Herbert last month. Since then, speculation has swirled that Herbert wants to get back together with his now estranged wife. However, rumor also has it that Braxton refuses to go back again. On top of that, her mother, Evelyn Braxton, accused Herbert of physically abusing Tamar, confirming speculation that had been going on for years that he was violent.
