Drake Instagram 2017: Rapper Checks Fan Who Said The Weeknd Wrote 'Take Care' Album Amid Feud

Drake clearly plays no games when it comes to getting credit for his large body of work and creativity, so it’s not that surprising when he went off on a fan who suggested that The Weeknd was actually the brains behind one of Drake’s most successful albums, Take Care. This comes as the two are reportedly feuding over The Weeknd’s ex, Bella Hadid.

Drake released Take Care in 2011, and it featured hits such as "Crew Love," in which The Weeknd was also on the hit song. He was reliving its success as he released a snapshot of him looking at the track list for the successful album.

A fan who has now deleted their comment clapped it up for The Weeknd, not Drake, and said that The Weeknd was really the reason the album reached the heights it did years ago. It didn’t take long for Drake to respond and share his side. Drake referred to The Weeknd by his government first name, Abel, as he checked the now-mysterious fan.

“Abel CO WROTE on Shot For Me and Practice, obviously was featured on Crew Love and The Ride and that’s it… there’s 20 songs on that album… don’t try me.”

Drake’s seemingly emotional response comes amid reports that he violated the “bro code” when he started to get extra close to The Weeknd’s former girlfriend, supermodel Bella Hadid.

“They both hang in the same Toronto crew and now they’re having to pick sides,” one insider told Page Six recently. “The Weeknd performed and people on Drake’s side were like, ‘I can’t show up to that… Got to have allegiance.’ They aren’t getting along right now … The groups are beefing because [Drake] broke the bro code. [He and Bella] 100 percent hooked up.”

Interestingly enough, during this time, The Weeknd seemed to be going strong with singer and actress Selena Gomez. The two appeared to get extra close when Gomez had a kidney transplant over the summer. Still, that seemed to be the time that Drake and Hadid got pretty close to each other as well.

Since then, rumors of Drake and Hadid have died down for now, as they haven’t really been spotted together recently. Plus The Weeknd and Gomez have called it quits after she was spotted with her ex.
