Jennifer Lopez's manager is concerned that the the multi-talented celebrity allows herself to be pursued by "obsessive men," saying this sometimes prevents her from having a meaningful relationship.

Lopez, 42, is currently dating her backup dancer Casper Smart, 24, a romance that emerged shortly after her split from ex husband Marc Anthony.

In April's Vogue issue, Lopez calls her manager, Benny Medina, "the most consistent man in my life besides my dad. We do love each other."

"The thing that I always sort of wished is that she would give herself time to just naturally meet someone, instead of having obsessive guys pursue her," Medina said in the same article.

"The ease with which that obsession becomes a relationship I think sometimes works against her ability to have a real meaningful relationship."

"She's not oblivious to her own reality right now, as in, 'Damn, I'm 42 with a 24-year-old. Why?'" Medina tells Vogue.

"She was just like, 'It's not even the age, Benny. It's that I just came out of a relationship where I felt like I was kind of not getting what I needed. And I'm open! So somebody who steps in right now and is actually touching me in a way - It's very fertile ground," the manager added, according to the magazine.

"And she never half does anything. When she commits to anything in her work, her life, or her relationships, she is in it. I'm not telling you anything I haven't told her," he said. "And I think to her detriment, the will of Jennifer is so strong that she believes that it can actually change who someone is and how they relate to her."

Lopez, who did not address Medina's comments in the article, mentioned her recent failed marriage to singer Marc Anthony only in general terms.

"Without going into detail...it's just really, really sad. And look we are still going through it, and it's emotional sometimes and difficult. We're still friends-and we're parents but it's going to take time," she said.

The manager's comments emerge amid rumors that Lopez is planning to marry Smart.

According to reports, tweets from the Twitter account of fashion designer Roberto Cavalli hinted about a wedding.

But Lopez dismissed the rumors immediately, saying his account was hacked. The comments were no longer visible on Cavalli's Twitter account or the Lopez's website.
