Keith Urban recently purchased a $40-Million Upper East Side property for his wife, Nicole Kidman, and their kids.

The country musician surprised the Australian actress with the lavish home so she could focus on her career on Broadway. The Big Little Lies star just landed a role in the London production of Photograph 21 recently.

Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman House Features

Urban and Kidman's six-story house was once owned by the late Michael Jackson, but the former American Idol judge purchased the property after it was put on the market by hedge funder, Marc Lasry. Some of the standout features of Urban and Kidman's new house include 10 fireplaces, a garden-level patio, seven bedrooms, a private roof deck, and a spacious kitchen.

The couple's New York City property will also serve as the new home for their two children, Sunday Rose, 9, and Faith Margaret, 6. One of the things that the award-winning musician considered before buying a house was the schools in the area for his two girls.

"It has some of the top schools in the country and they think their girls would really benefit from the moving to the Big Apple now they're getting a bit older," said a source.

Couple's Marriage Stronger Than Ever

Urban and Kidman tied the knot on June 25, 2006, however, things haven't always been great for the couple. Just months after they tied the knot, Urban's excessive drinking almost caused a strain in their relationship.

Apparently, Urban's supportive wife staged an intervention and encouraged him to get clean. "You can't save somebody; they've got to save themselves. You cannot save a human being, they have to save themselves. But you can love them and give them enormous support," said Kidman.

Since then, Urban and Kidman's relationship has been stronger than ever. The couple normally praises each other at awards shows and television appearances.

Two months ago, however, Kidman made headlines for kissing her Big Little Lies co-star, Alexander Skarsgard, in front of her husband at the 2017 Emmy Awards. Later on, Kidman revealed that the singer didn't mind.

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman will also renew their wedding vows soon. Urban asked for the award-winning actress' hand in marriage again when she celebrated her 50th birthday on June 12. The couple's low-ceremony is expected to take place in Hawaii, Kidman's birthplace. "She's hoping this second wedding will only make them a stronger," Kidman's friend said.
