The Power Rangers franchise will be celebrating a huge milestone next year. The fan-favorite sci-fi and fantasy series will be turning 25 years old.

Thanks to Saban Brands, the Power Rangers franchise has nearly two dozen television series, three silver screen adventures, numerous comic book titles, and even a Red Ranger balloon that marched in several Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades. To commemorate this special occasion, Brands has released some of its big plans on how they have celebrated the milestone.

A Super Season

The Power Rangers first hit American television on Aug. 28, 1993, when FOX aired "Day of the Dumpster," the very first episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. 800 episodes later and after introducing Zordon, Alpha Five, Rita Repulsa, and Lord Zedd in the pop culture lexicon, Nickelodeon will air Power Rangers: Super Ninja Steel sometime during the first few months of 2018.

Numerous speculations suggest that fan-favorite actors from the show's favorite seasons might make cameos for a special 25th-anniversary episode.

No Ranger Is Safe

Boom! Studios, which started a successful string of Power Rangers comics will be marking the franchise's exclusive milestone by bringing the Rangers to their breaking point. "Shattered Grid" is an extraordinary story crossover in both the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Saban's Go Go Power Rangers titles. Lord Drakkon, an evil alternate reality version of legendary Power Ranger Tommy Oliver, has gathered a massive army that threatens to eliminate every Power Ranger team in history. To counter this monstrous threat, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers must team up with their counterparts from the future.

However, will meeting their future counterparts divide the current Mighty Morphin Power Rangers lineup? Writers Kyle Higgins (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and Ryan Parrott (Saban's Go Go Power Rangers) along with a superb group of artists will present this game-changing story.

"Shattered Grid" will start in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #25, which is expected to drop on March 21, 2018.

Saban's Power Rangers 2?

On March 24, 2018, Saban's Power Rangers will celebrate its first anniversary of hitting the Silver Screen. Saban's Power Rangers marked the first time in 20 years that the colorful superhero team appeared in cinemas. While the film showcased diversity such as incorporating teammates who are identified as LGBT and autistic, it also polarized the fan base due to the characterizations of fan-favorite characters such as Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks) and Alpha Five (voiced by Bill Hader).

Also, Saban's Power Rangers cost over $100 million but it only grossed over $141.3 million worldwide. There are conflicting reports regarding the possibility of a sequel but Brands would probably announce its fate during the 25th Anniversary Celebration.
