Before the Gossip Girl actress met husband Ryan Reynolds, he was trying to woo another teen star: Melissa Joan Hart.

During an interview on Chelsea Lately, Hart revealed that Reynolds gave her an expensive watch after the pair wrapped the Sabrina the Teenage Witch movie back in 1996.

Hart told guest host Ross Matthews, "He was 17 and I was, like, 19. I was like, 'You're too young for me."

The star said she didn't know how to react to the sweet gesture, so "I just grabbed him and started kissing him."

"You get a piece of jewelry like that, you gotta make out with the guy!" Hart reasoned.

The hot make-out session happened way before Reynolds met his current wife, Lively.

The Green Lantern co-stars tied the knot back in September 2012 at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., just outside of Charleston.

The reception took place in a white tent at the plantation on Sunday evening. Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine), a good friend of the Gossip Girl star, performed three songs live, and there was also a deejay who spun tunes. 

Lively and Reynolds have been in nesting mode since buying a home in Bedford, N.Y., last year. The two have stayed relatively mum about their relationship, though Lively, 25, did tell Marie Claire this past summer, "It's definitely attractive when a man can dress well."

Reynolds, 35, was previously married to Scarlett Johansson. The couple divorced in 2010 after two years of marriage.

This is the first marriage for Lively, who previously dated her Gossip Girl costar Penn Badgley.
