Miguel didn’t play any games when he came for a fan who accused the singer of sexual assault. In the heat of several accusations involving celebrities and men of power, Miguel has taken this step to make sure his name isn’t added to the long and growing list of men being ridiculed for their past actions.

Miguel States His Case

He responded to a fan via his publicist about the incident. This isn’t the first time he’s spoken out about it, but given the nature of the accusation, it’s no wonder there was a need to confront it after being asked about it again.

“I felt I had already addressed how bizarre and twisted this accusation was when I was asked about it in March,” said Miguel through his representation. “Her story of what transpired is not accurate and the accusation is unfair and unwarranted.”

Miguel was responding to a fan who posted a snapshot of the two together on Instagram. The woman, Xian Bass, was enrolled at the University of New Mexico at the time.

Xian Bass Has Words For Miguel

The woman began her message that dates back to March 14 with saying that she’s no longer a fan of Miguel after his alleged inappropriate actions. She accused the Adorn singer of “blatantly” assaulting her. She maintained, “There is nothing I did or said that warranted this disgusting display of entitlement, rape culture, and male privilege.”

She said that she did “approach” Miguel in a correct manner and he responded by disrespecting her. She revealed that after they took the now infamous snapshot, he touched her inappropriately and tried to take off her shirt without her permission. She said despite being successful in removing her shirt, he had a look of “disgust” on his face; a look that Bass said she couldn’t get out of her mind. She challenged Miguel if he had a habit of abusing his female fans. She warned him that while it might have gone unnoticed before, she would stop that pattern immediately.

Dear Miguel, I used to be a fan of your music. I was a fan of your music until you blatantly disrespected my body in a public place. There is nothing I did or said that warranted this disgusting display of entitlement, rape culture, and male privilege. I approached you respectfully and you still decided my body was not sacred enough to be treated as a human being. After we took this photo, you took it upon yourself to grab my breast and remove it from my shirt WITHOUT CONSENT. You then proceeded to look at my naked breast with such a disgusting look on your face. It's still embedded in my memory. The sneer of your lip and salivating mouth is making my stomach turn. I really don't understand why you would do that to someone who approached you as a fan. I'm beyond disgusted right now. Are you used to treating random female strangers this way? Have you gotten away with this in the past? Well, it stops HERE and NOW. I will not sit in shameful silence and allow sexual assault to be normalized. #toxicmasculinity #maleprivilege #violated #rapecultureisreal #celebrityprivilege #iwasntaskingforit #speakup #speakupspeakout #nomiguel

Miguel addressed her complaints a little more than a week later with TMZ. He accused Bass of wanting to be in the spotlight and needing attention. Still, while he didn’t deny the accusations, he put the focus back on Bass in the clip.

The resurfacing of the claims comes amid dozens of celebrity men being accused of sexual assault. Be sure to keep up with Enstarz for the latest.
