CBS' hit TV series, How I Met Your Mother, will be kicking off its ninth season with a one-hour premiere in the fall.
Although it's untraditional for comedies to go longer than a half hour at a time, the HIMYM production team certainly has got themselves the creative manpower and storylines to pull such an unorthodox feat off.
While the fans still don't know the name of Cristin Milioti's Mother character, the respective role will surely serve to fill in a considerable amount of airtime, which may indicate that there's more backstory to come.
HIMYM co-creator Carter Bays had explained that fans of the TV show will become "much better" acquainted with the Mother going into its upcoming installment, according to the Christian Post.
"There's a time jump of some sort in every episode of this show, so you can rest assured the premiere will be no different. That being said, this next season in particular will feature some of the most non-linear episodes we've ever done," he said.
CBS' How I Met Your Mother is slated to kick off Season 9 on Monday, September 23. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the show. View the video below for more details of the show's ninth season.
