Instagram has a new star in its lineup. It's none other than Will Smith who signed up for an account of the popular social media app Thursday.

For anyone who knows the struggle of using a common name on Instagram, Smith did it somehow and was able to use the handle @willsmith. His bio reads, “New playground. Same kid from West Philly…” along with a link to his latest project. It’s a Netflix original film called Bright.

Will Smith Now Has 1.2 Million Followers On Instagram

He’s already climbing up the social ranks. As of now, he has 1.2 million followers. It might be safe to say that number is growing by the minute. As for who he is following, it’s only 34 people right now.

Some of the most recognizable names include Jared Leto, Tiffany Haddish, Barack and Michelle Obama, Cara Delevinge, Martin Lawrence, Beyonce, Guy Ritchie, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, and Ellen DeGeneres. He also hit the “follow” button on his former The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air costars Tatyana Ali, Alfonso Ribeiro, and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Just like any other father would, he is following his children: Willow Smith, Jaden Smith, and Trey Smith. However, it doesn't look like he's following Tyrese just yet.

He posted his first snapshot, a selfie, showing off his duck lips at none other than DeGeneres’ daytime talk show. Clearly, he’s catching on quick because he even added in his location in the snapshot.

DeGeneres made it to the second photo as the two posed together with hilarious faces. He posted a few more photos from the set of the show including one that was swipe worthy.

He also showed love to his days on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air along with DeGeneres dressed up as the infamous mother from the iconic intro before adding his very first #flashbackfriday snapshot of a young, baby Smith.

Singer and actor Justin Timberlake, who is pretty solid on Instagram himself, was one of the first celebrities to welcome Smith to the world of the photo and video sharing app. He shared a photo of he and Smith from the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. He also took a quick moment to school Smith on the #tbt trend of Instagram.

“Welcome to Instagram @willsmith,” wrote Timberlake. “This is calleda #TBT. Which means Throwback Thursday. Which is a phoot you post on Thursdays that you like, that was taken in the past. I like this photo because it’s a photo of you and me. And we look like we’re having a serious conversation about something very important. And that makes me feel important.” It didn't take long for Smith to respond with a hilarious video. He told Timberlake he knows exactly what #TBT is and gave Timberlake advice of his own about Timberlake possibly performing at the Super Bowl halftime show next year. Let's just say it involved Smith showing his bare nipple. Take a look.
