After Saturday Night Live and The President Show, Stephen Colbert's new animated series, Our Cartoon President, will crack jokes at Donald Trump's expense.

The upcoming series will coincidentally arrive a few days after the commander-in-chief of the United States delivers his first State of the Union address on Jan. 30.

Premiere Date

Showtime announced on Monday, Dec. 18, that the upcoming parody animated series titled Our Cartoon President, from known Trump-basher Colbert will hit television screens on Feb. 11, 2018.

The series will comprise of 10 half-hour episodes and will premiere on an 8 p.m. slot ahead of the network's Season 7 premiere of Homeland at 9 p.m. However, Showtime will give viewers an early preview of the cartoon series on Jan. 28. The first episode available across multiple platforms online and on demand ahead of Trump's speech.

Colbert will serve as an executive producer of the series along with his The Late Show executive producer Chris Licht.

Plot Details

The upcoming series follows the "tru-ish" misadventures of the 45th President of the United States as he throws open the White House doors for an "all access" glimpse of what a typical day looks like in the life of the POTUS, his advisers, and family members.

Our Cartoon President "examines the quintessentially Trumpian details of the presidency and his most important relationships, and no one is safe - from his close family and confidants to key political figures from both parties and members of the media," Showtime said in a statement on Monday.

The cartoon series is a spin-off of the animated Donald Trump character that frequently appeared on Colbert's talk show during last year's election campaign. Tim Luecke, the man behind the Trump cartoon, will reprise his role as lead animator on the upcoming Showtime series.

'Our Cartoon President' Teaser Trailer

The network also released the show's first teaser trailer along with the announcement of the show's premiere. The 50-second clip shows an incredibly orange animated Trump struggling to make his way to the podium for a press conference.

The character starts running short of breath and collapses on the floor but drags himself toward the dais. Then, his entourage, which includes animated versions of Melania Trump, Ivanka Trump, Jeff Sessions, and Jared Kushner among others, helps him out and lifts him up to the microphone so he can announce that Our Cartoon President is "coming soon."
