Are Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton ready to welcome a baby together?

According to a new report, the couple of just over two years has been doing their best to conceive a child for over a year, but thus far, Stefani is not believed to be pregnant. That said, Stefani and Shelton are reportedly hoping that a baby will come sometime in 2018.

“They definitely want to have a family together,” a source told Us Weekly magazine, as revealed by Hollywood Life on Dec. 21. “The boys and Blake are very close, but Blake does want a child of his own and Gwen would love to have a girl.”

Stefani and Shelton are “hopeful” that she will be able to have a child soon and further expand their blended family, which currently includes Stefani's three sons, 11-year-old Kingston, 9-year-old Zuma, and 3-year-old Apollo.

According to Hollywood Life, Stefani recently opened up about her Christmas festivities, admitting that she was a nerd about the holidays and revealing that she and her family sing Christmas carols and watch the Santa meters, which feature his location. The singer also revealed that her sons dress in matching plaid suits on Christmas Eve and attend mass with Shelton. Then after mass, Stefani and her brood travels to her brother's house before reuniting at her own Beverly Hills home for Christmas day.

While Stefani and Shelton aren't expecting quite yet, nor are they engaged, another source months ago said that the two singers are equally excited about becoming parents in the future.

“Blake and Gwen‘s excitement over becoming parents has made their relationship rock solid,” an insider told Hollywood Life at the end of October. “It’s even an inside joke between them — like if any disagreement starts brewing, they just start talking about having kids.”

The source also revealed that Shelton was determined to make the holidays extra special for Stefani.

“Blake has promised to make their alone time together extra special, it’s going to be a very romantic Christmas this year,” the insider added.

Shelton recently wrapped production on The Voice season 13, but soon, he and his co-stars, including Adam Levine and Alicia Keys, will reunite for season 14 with new coach Kelly Clarkson, who starred as a mentor during the show's 13th season.
