Meghan Markle Continues To Rewrite The Rules: Wants Her Mom To Walk Her Down The Aisle

As if Meghan Markle spending Christmas with the royal family wasn't enough to break tradition, the Suits alum reportedly wants her mother, Doria Ragland, to walk her down the aisle.

Traditionally, brides are given away by their fathers, but there have been various weddings in which the mother, brother, or even grandfather were "given that honor."

Although, it hasn't been confirmed that Markle's mother will definitely walk her down the aisle, Markle's estranged sister, Samantha Grant immediately took to Twitter to end that rumor.

"Much about Doria walking Meg down the aisle is NOT true. Our father will walk her down the aisle." Grant tweeted.

Grant's tweet should come as no surprise as she recently took to Twitter to fire back about Prince Harry's recent statements in an interview. As previously reported, Grant fired back about Harry's comments that his family is the family that Markle "never had."

Grant stated that Markle has always had a family and nothing has changed even though her parents, Ragland and Thomas Markle Sr. were divorced.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Markle's brother mentioned that their father would be hurt by Harry's comments.

"My father will be extremely hurt, actually. He dedicated the majority of all his time and everything to her. He made sure she had what she needed to be successful and get to where she's at today," Markle's brother stated.

Their Wedding, Their Way

Well, for those that were expecting to see a "traditional" royal wedding for Prince Harry and Markle, don't! The couple has plans to do things their way and want to involve their family and friends as much as possible.

"With the wedding, they both want to do things their way. While they will always be mindful of traditions and the views of their elders, the day is ultimately about them and what they want to do," the insider stated.

While Markle continues to prove that she is a rebel, Harry has never been to follow either.

"Harry has never been one to follow instructions and both he and Meghan are extremely independent individuals," a Palace source told Us weekly.

Who Will Walk Markle Down The Aisle?

Although Markle's dad has not made any comments on the allegations that her mother may walk her down the aisle. Grant has stated that she's sure their father would want to walk Meghan down the aisle.

Markle's half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., has also shared that the decision should be left up to Meghan, but if their father does not walk her down the aisle, then he definitely will.
