America Ferrera's 2018 couldn't have started off any better. From the announcement of her pregnancy on Sunday to reuniting with her strong "Sisterhood," the Superstore actress is set to have a phenomenal year.
On Sunday, the Golden Globe winner took to social media to announce that she and her husband, Ryan Piers Williams, will be welcoming their first child together.
As previously reported, the parents-to-be kicked off the New Year with sparkly 2018 glasses and lots of kisses as they prepare for their new bundle of joy.
On Tuesday, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants cast, more like aunties, reunited with Ferrera to celebrate her pregnancy. The longtime friends posed for a cute photo together as they rubbed the actress's baby bump.
Ferrera took to her Instagram to share the photo with the caption "Starting the New Year off with blessings from my Sisterhood. We've got work to do for the next generation. Let's get to it. #TIMESUP"
Ferrera's co-star Amber Tamblyn also took to her Instagram to share the same photo.
"Didn't think anything could beat starting off the new year with the #TIMESUP Legal Defense Fund initiative yesterday, but then," she added.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants made its debut on May 31, 2005, and also stars Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel. Ferrera, Bledel, Lively, and Tamblyn are four best friends living in Maryland, who eventually decide to go their separate ways but remain connected by a pair of jeans that they take turns sharing.
The Sisterhood Continues To Travel
The all-female cast reunited for a sequel of the comedy drama on Aug. 6, 2008, and have been inseparable ever since.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2013, the Ugly Betty alum stated that their friendship goes beyond the movie.
"We almost forgot that we made a movie together because our friendship was created from so many other experiences," Ferrera said.
The ladies have even hinted that a third film might be in the works, but an actual release date has yet to be confirmed.
The Sisterhood cast couldn't be happier to find out that Ferrera is expecting, as she is the last of the gang to become a mom. Lively has two daughters with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. Bledel and her husband, Vincent Kartheiser, have a 2-year-old son. In February 2017, Tamblyn and her husband, David Cross, welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Marlow.
Ferrera's pregnancy announcement and reunion with her sisterhood comes at the perfect time, as she recently just launched the new anti-sexual harassment campaign, Time's Up. As previously reported, the actress as well as Reese Witherspoon, Eva Longoria, and Shonda Rhimes have all joined together to fight against systemic sexual harassment in Hollywood and workplace.
