AMC's hit zombie series, The Walking Dead, continues to garner a massive amount of speculation over its highly anticipated fourth season, which is set to launch in the fall.

Prior to its TV series success, the program's roots started with its comics, which haven't exactly been adhered to by the show's creative brass.

In the comic book series, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) ended up losing his right hand in a battle with the Governor (David Morrissey). However, judging by the set photos, it seems to be a real possibility that Lincoln's character may suffer the same loss, as Rick's shown with a large white bandage on the respective hand.

While some fans may welcome the news of the unorthodox twist, TWD comic book creator/executive producer Robert Kirkman has expressed on many occasions that he's had his regrets about taking away Rick hand in the comic books version, stated Screen Crush.

While such a move can indeed be pulled off, it's said that the CGI involved for Rick the amputee would be a lot more difficult to pull off than Hershel's (Scott Wilson) missing leg,
