Nicki Minaj risked being banned by Instagram when she shared a revealing photo of herself on the social media site on Wednesday. 

Minaj, 30, posted a picture of herself wearing a white strapless gown pulled down to her waist. Minaj narrowly avoided having the image removed by the social media site because the image that shows her hands strategically placed over her private parts. Without the cover-up the image would have been removed citing the company's nudity rules.

Minaj's topless image was first posted by her boyfriend, Safaree, a music producer who goes by the name Scaff Breezy. He posted the image on Twitter with the caption "Throwback...." on June 19. 

Madonna shared a warning she received by the company owned by Facebook on her Instagram account in February.

The warning to the iconic pop singeroffered a list of rules inlcuding one that reads "Don't share photos that share nudity or mature content."

Minaj has been super busy since her exit as the judge of season 12 of American Idol. She revealed what she has been up to on June 14. She wrote on Twitter that what she has been "doing is top secret" then shared some of the professional projects. 

"saw the mario edit, dope, saw the busta edit, dope, amazing #myx meeting, LONG #kmart meeting, approve this approve that....AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!" Minaj wrote on the social media site.

Miinaj filmed her first movie, The Other Woman, in New York City last month. The Queens rapper was photographed while in-between takes for her role in the upcoming film, directed by Nick Cassavetes. Minaj stars alongside Cameron Diaz who plays the lead as a spurned girlfriend of a man she is dating. Mail Online revealed that when her character learns that she is not her boyfriend's only love interest, she meets up with his wife to plot revenge. The Other Woman also stars two-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model Kate Upton and Leslie Mann.
