When White Collar returns for season 5 this fall, the fate of Emily Procter's Amanda Callaway character will be up in the air.

According to a Thursday report by TVLine, it's possible that Procter may not be returning at all for season 5. If she does return - which would be a hug surprise - it will not be anytime soon and "certainly" not in the first few season 5 episodes, according to the report.

The Amanda Callaway character appeared in the last two episodes in season 4 as the White Collar division's new Assistant Special Agent in Charge. It was learned that Callaway had ties to Senator Pratt, who was murdered at the end of last season. Neal's father, James, who was the murderer, framed Peter instead, which caused Callaway to arrest Peter.

Since White Collar has been filming its fifth season for the past few months with no report of her appearing, it can be assumed that she won't be showing up for a while, if ever again.

Speaking of White Collar's fifth season, star Willie Garson, who plays Mozzie on the show, had a Q&A session on Twitter on Thursday and revealed a few details for what's to come.

Garson said that White Collar will be returning in October, which had not been previously known. The USA network said that the show would be returning in Fall 2013 but had not specified which month, let alone an official premiere date.

Additionally, a Twitter follower asked if there was any "exciting episodes" for Mozzie coming up, and Garson cryptically tweeted, "Stay tuned....."  The actor could have an increased role this season, especially since he said he'll be directing an episode in season 5.

White Collar will return for its 16-episode fifth season in October on the USA network.
