AMC's hit zombie TV series, The Walking Dead, continues to stir the pot of anticipation over its upcoming fifth installment, as fans continue to scour the web for the latest info.

Loyalists of the program currently find themselves on edge, as recent news has come out that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) may be losing his hand.

Although the scenario from the comics may not necessarily be used for the show, new photos from the set of Season 4 reveal the prison group leader with one of his hands heavily bandaged.

Executive producer and comic book creator Robert Kirkman recently chimed in on the matter to Digital Spy.

"One thing I'm adamant about is I don't think that we should cut Rick's hand off [on television]. When I'm writing a comic book, I don't think about what I'm doing. I go, 'Oh, it'd be pretty cool if they cut his hand off right now. That'd be pretty shocking, right? Then I do it, and five issues later, I write 'Rick opens a can of beans' and then I look at the script and think 'He can't do that now.' I didn't even think that through," he said.

AMC's The Walking Dead will be kicking off on Sunday, October 13 at 9/8 p.m. Central. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the hit zombie series. Check out a promo for the fourth season below!
