Dwanye Johnson may be appearing in the upcoming movie from the Terminator franchise, according to multiple reports.

Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed earlier in the year that he will be involved in the movie and the filmmakers are reportedly looking to add to the film the wrestler and modern action hero. Examiner reported that the film's production company Annapurna Films created a version of the script specifically written for Johnson, according to an exclusive source close to the company.

Another source close to the film claimed to the website that the new movie could be a prequel to the series, in which the terminators go back in time to search after characters alive before Sarah and John Connor. There is as yet no specific information about what role Johnson is being considered for.

Johnson could be a spark for the recently revived movie franchise: he's already proven it in newer editions of The Fast and The Furious and The Mummy series, among others.

"He comes in and he elevates everything, not just physically, but energy-wise. He was the only one in our minds that could reinvent G.I. Joe and carry the franchise forward," said Jon M. Chu, who directed Johnson in this year's G.I. Joe: Retaliation"We call him franchise Viagra."

Johnson himself expressed an openness to joining additional movie franchises.

"If I can create a character that audiences will really like and love going on a journey with, then I jump at that opportunity," Johnson told The Associated Press in March. "How do you elevate something that's already successful? What do you do? How do you make it different? How do you make it fun? How do you make it cool?"

Johnson's representatives have not confirmed any of the reports about his attachment to the Terminator film. Johnson is also yet to have made any suggestion via social media that he will be appearing in the film.
