Actor Jamie Dornan has been as tight light as possible when asked about the secrets of his upcoming film Fifty Shades Freed.

One secret he didn't keep to himself, though, is that after the third film, he will hang up his handcuffs and whips. Dornan was asked in an interview with ITV's Lorraine if he would continue portraying the ever charming and seductive Christian Grey, Dornan feels that he may be too old to keep playing Mr. Grey.

Fifty Shades of Fed Up?

Dornan spoke with host Lorraine Kelly about the last film in the trilogy and explained why he felt that it was time to say goodbye to Christian Grey. The actor explained that there aren't any more books in the series except for the two from Christian's perspective and stated that it would be the same story over and over.

"Unless Erica keeps writing, but Dakota [Johnson] and I are...particularly me, I'm gettin' too old for...for this," Dornan stated.

When asked if he was pleased with how his character progressed from the first movie, he stated that he liked him more now than he did initially.

"I think he's gone through quite a big change in his...in his way and how he is with people and he's opened up a lot by Anna and I think he's just a better version of himself, Dornan continued.

Dornan stated before that the sex scenes between him and Johnson weren't uncomfortable as the two have a sibling-like bond.

Will The Series Continue?

The worldwide phenomenon is based on the best-selling series by author E.L. James. Fifty Shades Freed will pick up from the second film Fifty Shades Darker where Christian and Ana (Johnson) will begin their lives as newlyweds.

However, the couple must face an impending danger. Ana's ex-boss, Jack Hyde (Eric Johnson), will be out for revenge and Christian's ex-lover, Elena Lincoln (Kim Bassigner) will be back to cause more trouble. Also, Ana learns she's pregnant, which may cause further problems for the happy couple.

The upcoming film from the Fifty Shades franchise also stars Max Martini, Brant Daugherty, Arielle Kebbel, Fay Masterson, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford, Marcia Gay Harden, and Tyler Hoechlin.

Although the first two films received a mixed reception, they were a box-office success.

Fifty Shades Freed hits theaters on Feb. 9, 2018.
