Two of television's strongest women will share the screen in a crossover between Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder.

The highly-anticipated meeting between the Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) has already been hyped up as the encounter between two of ABC's biggest stars. A promo was previously released, and the network also revealed the airing date and synopsis for the crossover.

'Scandal' Crossover Episode

The Scandal episode will see Pope approached by criminal defense attorney Keating who is looking for assistance in fast-tracking a judicial reform class action to the Supreme Court. Pope, caught vulnerable position after her political career takes a major blow, finds the challenge much more difficult than she expected.

The episode is entitled "Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself," and will feature How to Get Away with Murder stars Davis and Aja Naomi King who plays Michaela Pratt.

'How To Get Away With Murder' Crossover Episode

Right after the screening of Scandal comes the crossover episode on How to Get Away with Murder entitled "Lahey v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania."

The class action case still takes center stage after the events of Scandal. In the How to Get Away with Murder episode that follows, Pope plays a crucial role in arguing Keating's case at the Supreme Court. In the same episode, Liza Weil's Bonnie finds out something about Behzad Dabu's Simon that could reveal what really happened the night he was shot.

The Women Of ABC

A previous episode of How to Get Away with Murder entitled "Ask Him About Stella" already gave viewers a glimpse of a universe shared between the two hit television shows. Pope appears at the end of the episode as a guest lecturer, writing "How to Survive a Scandal" on the chalkboard in a throwback to the pilot episode of the television series.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly on the highly-touted crossover episodes, show leaders Washington and Davis were not shy in expressing their excitement about working together in each other's shows.

"It was black girl magic on steroids!" Davis describes the experience. "Me and Kerry dancing to 'Rock the Boat?' Hey, it can't get any better."

"I really love Viola," the Scandal star says. "I have such immense respect and admiration for her," Washington seconds the sentiment.

The special crossover episode of Scandal will air Thursday, March 1 at 9 p.m., followed by How to Get Away with Murder at 10 p.m.
