The creator of Stars WarsIndiana Jones and Pixar founder, George Lucas, wed his fiancée of six months, Mellody Hobson, at his famous Skywalker Ranch on Saturday. 

Lucas, 69, tied the knot with Hobson, 44, on June 22 in Marin County, Calif. Six months after he announced their engagement in January, according to People.

It is the first marriage for Hobson and second for Lucas. The couple has been dating since 2006. Lucas was previously married to film editor Marcia Lucas from 1969 to 1983. George has three children. He adopted his first child Amanda, during his marriage with Marcia. After they divorced in 1983, he adopted two more children, Katie and Jett.

Several of the couple's celebrity wedding guests tweeted about their nuptials. Star Wars actor Samuel L. Jackson wrote on Twitter from the ceremony, "Let's give a Galactic shout out to Master George Lucas & his bride Melodie on this, their wedding day."

Fellow filmmaker Ron Howard also wrote about their ceremony on Twitter.

"George Lucas Melody Hobson wedding was joy to behold Bill Moyers service was beautiful, nothing short of profound. Congrats Mr&Mrs Lucas," Howard wrote.

Hobson, a Princeton University graduate, is President of her own Chicago-based investment management firm, Ariel Investments. She is also a contributing financial reporter for ABC News andGood Morning America and on the board of Dream Works Animation SKG, (serving as the chairman), the Field Museum, the Chicago Public Education Fund and the Sundance Institute, according to Forbes.com.

Lucas announced his retirement from producing and directing blockbuster films in January, 2012. Disney would later buy his company, LucasFilm, which includes the rights to the Stars Wars franchise, for $4 million, according to USA Today.
