Actress Rebecca Gayheart is filing for divorce from The Last Ship actor Eric Dane. The couple have been married since 2004.

Irreconcilable Differences

Gayheart filed the papers in the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday, Feb. 16. The documents revealed that the actress is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the pair's two children Billie, 7, and Georgia, 6.

Citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their split, Gayheart is also asking for spousal support.

While they're parting ways, Gayheart and Dane looks to be on the same page moving forward with their joint statement released to Entertainment Tonight.

"After 14 years together we have decided that ending our marriage is the best decision for our family," the official statement reads. "We will continue our friendship and work as a team to co-parent our two beautiful girls as they are the most important thing in the world to us. We kindly ask that you respect our privacy during this time as we navigate the next phase of our lives."

The Couple Through The Years

Dane and Gayheart have been through a lot in their years together. In 2009, a video was leaked online of the couple intimate in a hot tub with another woman.

Then, two years later, the Grey's Anatomy star checked himself into rehab to treat an addiction to painkillers.

"I never had a family, and now I do," Dane told People at the time. "I know I'm a very lucky guy."

In April 2017, Dane also took time off from the TNT show The Last Ship to deal with his depression and get treatment. In a statement from his rep, it was revealed that producers allowed him a few weeks off for his condition.

Celebrity Splits In 2018

The world is barely through the first month of the year, but there have already been numerous significant break-ups in Tinseltown.

The most high-profile couple to announce their divorce is Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, who revealed their decision on Thursday, Feb. 15.

Parenthood actress Monica Potter and husband Daniel Christopher Allison also decided to split up after 13 years of marriage. Fellow television star Julie Bowen of Modern Family also confirmed her separation from 13-year husband Scott Phillips.

Anne Heche and James Tupper have never tied the knot, but the pair has been together for over 10 years until they announced their split in January. Other unmarried couples who have called it quits include: Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff, Nicki Minaj and Nas, and Bristol Palin and Dakota Meyer.
