Oprah Winfrey is the latest personality to take the brunt of U.S. President Donald Trump's vitriol, saying the talk show host ought to run so she would be "exposed."

This came on Sunday, after a string of tweets by the leader of the United States. In his tweet, Trump came out swinging on Oprah for her appearance on CBS's 60 Minutes, where she consistently shot down claims that she would be running for president in the 2020 elections.

Trump described the talk show host as "very insecure."

"The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!" Trump tweeted.

It can be remembered that Oprah gave a moving, no-holds-barred, and lauded acceptance speech during the Golden Globes. This had ignited people to encourage the 64-year-old influential celebrity to run for the presidential elections, where she supposedly would be going head to head with Trump.

However, as much as the people's clamor for her to run was too great, Oprah seemed to have released a conclusive answer.

"I am actually humbled by the fact that people think that I could be a leader of the free world, but it's just not in my spirit. It's not in my DNA," she said in 60 Minutes.

This was a nod to previous interviews, which, in gist, she repeatedly said that though she was humbled and honored for the intentions of the many, she lacked the interest in running for office. This was also despite the wealthy people willing to support her in the upcoming poll.

Even with the numerous turndowns by Oprah, Trump did not seem to take things well, especially with the last episode of 60 Minutes. His tweet reaped both criticisms and praises, with fans of each prominent person defending their idols.

Reactions

One user stressed that Trump was the one who was insecure and added that the 71-year-old tycoon's use of the platform oozes insecurity. Another supporter hailed the president and said he was the best president.

Meanwhile, even as Oprah expressed her disinterest in running, many are still in the hopes of seating the talk show host in the White House. CNN's Brian Stelter explained that there is still a possibility for her to adhere to the desire of people.

Stelter cited former U.S. President Barack Obama's initial plans of snatching a senatorial position, before opting for the presidency. Whether Oprah's run for presidency would pan out or not, her fans would have to wait.
