Fans almost forgot about the drama between Matt Barnes and his ex-wife Gloria Govan. Their latest Instagram feud helped them remember, however.

So Much For A Happy Birthday

Interestingly enough, it all started when Barnes wished Govan a happy birthday on the social media site. He actually said he hoped she had an amazing day and pointed out that while they have had their very public issues in the past, he said he wanted him and Govan to be able to co-parent their two sons peacefully.

“No more games or bull," wrote Barnes. They need both of our love & support equally! We lead different lives but now we still on the same team…”

He ended with a “cheers” and wished her “Peace Love & Happiness” that seemed to be extending an olive branch to his ex.

Still, it might be safe to say Govan clearly didn’t see it that way. She responded with a message that Barnes might not have seen it coming.

She thanked him but indicated she wasn’t sure if his post was a compliment or an insult. She urged him to take his own advice and learn how to peacefully coparent.

She put their personal business on blast, even more, when she revealed the two would be going to court because they love a frivolous lawsuit.

"But hey let’s keep coparenting,” Govan added.

Barnes made it clear he wouldn’t let Govan have the last word. He followed up with a comment that suggested why the two were in the middle of a court battle, to begin with.

“Well… Stealing money my social security # forging my signature to buy your parents night club & house is pretty serious… but hey...I tried! See you in court! Oh & happy bday…,” Barnes wrote.

Even Derek Fisher And Matt Barnes Can Bury The Drama

Fans might remember Govan and Barnes’s split went public when he was accused of beating up Derek Fisher. Fisher, who used to play on the Los Angeles Lakers NBA team with Barnes, was dating Govan.

Barnes was said to have driven nearly 100 miles to beat up Fisher after he heard Fisher was hanging out with his family and living in the same home as his and Govan’s sons without him knowing. He was suspended for two games.

Fisher then returned the favor by getting a DUI and overturning a car. The vehicle was registered under Barnes’s name.

Barnes gave an update earlier this month and said the two are actually on good terms now.

“It’s crazy I say this – Derek and I get along better than I get along with my ex,” said Barnes in an interview with HOT 97. “You know, we squashed – I told him why I came at him the way I did, and he understood.”

He said that while he doesn’t agree with Fisher having a relationship with Govan given their former teammate status, he’s been able to let go of the drama.
