Tim Tebow's trade to the New York Jets sparked a media frenzy across the country, and a local newspaper was quick to publish an image of the Statue of Liberty "Tebowing."

"Brace yourself Big Apple, Timsanity is officially upon us! Tebow Town" the New York Daily News wrote next to a color drawing of the Statue of Liberty on bended knee and praying.

Tebow who used to play for the Denver Broncos, inspired the now popularized term "tebowing" after one fan posted photos of people kneeling in the same way the star quarterback tends to do when he kneels to pray after scoring in a game.

The paper also referred to "Timsanity," making light of the buzz around NBA New York Knicks player Jeremy Lin's "Linsanity." Both players have been compared in the past for overcoming difficult circumstances, sharing the same Christian faith and providing fans with memorable moments during games. Lin has previously said he has been inspired by Tebow.

The deal that brought Tebow to New York was finalized Wednesday evening.
