As Kate Middleton's July due date nears, the pregnant Duchess fears that husband, Prince William won't make the arrival of their royal baby.

Prince William, 31, has been busy on duty as a Search and Rescue pilot for the RAF in North Wales, but with the baby's due date being around the corner on July 17, Middleton, 31, is worried that he won't be there for the birth.

"Kate's worried he might not be around," a source told Now Magazine. "She's feeling self-conscious because it's uncharted territory for both of them."

According to reports, William is said to be spending as more time with Middleton at the couple's Kensington home in London, but there is a chance he might be called on emergency duty. Sources said getting William to the hospital for the baby's delivery is the family's number one concern.

"It's an exciting and nervous time, but she knows that he'll do everything in his power not to let her down," the source added.

Another source told PEOPLE magazine that William doesn't want to miss his child's birth for the world and will do everythng in his power to see the arrival

"Between now and then he is on and off shift and every attempt will be made to get him there," the source said.

William will reportedly take paternity leave when the baby arrives, but no word on if he is allowed days off before the baby is expected to come.

"William is expected to take two weeks off. This is extra time in addition to his holiday entitlement. If he wants to add holiday to extend his paternity leave he must get permission from senior officers," a source said. "At this stage it seems he is going to return to work within a fortnight of becoming a dad."

Meanwhile, Middleton is currently on maternity leave and hasn't been spotted out-and-about since The Trooping of Colour ceremony earlier this month.

The royal's baby gender has yet to be discovered by the couple.
