Since Iron Man debuted in theatres on May 2, 2008, fans have flocked to theaters to explore the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Studios announced that there will be six films that would drop in theaters, according to Comicbook. Three films would be released in worldwide cinemas in 2021 and another three films will be out in 2022.

Possible Release Dates

The Hollywood Reporter found out that the dates for the unannounced films are May 7, 2021; July 30, 2021; Nov. 5, 2021; Feb. 18, 2022; May 6, 2022; and July 29, 2022.

Fans speculate that the films could be possible sequels for blockbuster hits such as Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Meanwhile, others think that two of those slots could belong to either Fantastic Four or the X-Men movies. Disney purchased both franchises when it acquired entertainment assets of 21st Century Fox for $52.4 billion.

What Tony Wants, Tony Gets!

The news of the six unannounced films follows an exciting period for Marvel acolytes. On March 1, 2018, Iron Man actor Robert Downey, Jr. took to Twitter and interacted with the Marvel Studios Twitter account. It parlayed into an incredible conversation involving a chance for an early screening of Avengers: Infinity War.

"Any chance I could see it earlier?" tweeted Downey, Jr.

The studio's social media replied back to him and asked if April 27 would work with his schedule. He also asked them if he could bring some friends with him.

Marvel Studios then tagged several Avengers actors and GIFs in their response. Finally, Downey, Jr. asked if the whole world could see the film early. However, significant Marvel Cinematic Universe fans could not believe to get the following response.

"That's a FANTASTIC idea! Done. Avengers: #InfinityWar in theaters everywhere April 27th," tweeted Marvel Studios.

A New Legacy

Once Avengers: Infinity War releases and its upcoming sequel Avengers 4 will hit theatres on May 3, 2019, a bold new chapter in the history of Marvel Studios will begin. Thanks to the overwhelming success of Black Panther, it is safe to say that Wakanda would play a role in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Also, fans are eager to see Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson step into Carol Danvers's boots. The Room actress is expected to bring Captain Marvel to the big screen in 2019.

Following Avengers: Infinity War, fans will be able to see the latest adventures of Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) in his upcoming sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. The film is expected to debut in theaters on July 6.
