Actress Sally Field proves she is the ultimate mom to beat when she scored her son a meet with his Olympic athlete crush, Adam Rippon.

A mother will do anything for her children, even if that means playing matchmaker and doing bold stuff to get what they want or need. So was the case for the 71-year-old actress, who became the perfect wingman to her son, Sam Greisman.

A far cry from the thought that moms only embarrass their children, Field boldly had to pull some strings and make her own moves just so Greisman and Rippon could meet personally. Lo and behold, her efforts reaped rewards, proving there is nothing a mom can't do for her children's happiness.

What Went Down

In a tweet, Greisman uploaded a photo of him and Rippon, and of course, credited the matchmaker mother saying, "Thanks, mom." The figure skater replied to the 30-year-old's status, praised his caption, and in turn expressed his gratitude over Field's efforts.

Rippon and Field's son met at the Human Rights Campaign Dinner in Los Angeles on Saturday. It was just in mid-February when the public had gotten a wind of Greisman's admiration of an unnamed Olympic athlete. In a tweet, he uploaded a screenshot of his conversation with Field.

The Mrs. Doubtfire star clearly found Greisman's crush good-looking, but what tickled everyone was her seemingly lukewarm piece of advice, which was for him to find a way.

"Just some really helpful advice from my mom on how to deal with my Olympic crush," Greisman wrote, without naming the athlete.

However, Field was sure she would not let her son deal with this alone, even if she had to blatantly reveal who the mystery person was. Without batting an eye, she shared Greisman's status with Rippon on Twitter.

Field revealed Greisman was surprised with her advances, but that she wishes to "to see Adam in the family." Rippon, in an interview with Buzzfeed, stressed he admired the actress and hoped to meet with Greisman someday.

Well of course, Field's attempts were fruitful for this case. However, it is still unclear whether a love story would develop entirely, or if a second meet (or date) would materialize.

Meanwhile, there were a lot of fans tuning in to this story, and a lot were asking the question that really matters: "Did you ask him on a date tho?????" as user @wryansmith would put it. Many of the fans were elated that Greisman's plan finally played out well.
