Actor Chris Evans revealed in a new interview that his relationship with Jenny Slate is over. The pair had been on the roller coaster of their relationship for two years.

The Second Dumping

The breakup is the second time in months that Evans and Slate decided to end their fan-fared romance. The two agreed to call off their relationship following a public reconciliation near the end of 2017, which was around the time that Evans concluded shooting the eagerly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War. According to E! News, the split was documented by New York Times writer Reggie Ugwu, who stated that the pair "recently ended" their relationship.

However, Ugwu reports that despite having broken up, Slate made an impact on Evans which made him speak up on both National School Walkout Day and the #MeToo Movement. The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer actor stated that he now has a better understanding of the importance of using his voice for the good, having read Rebecca Solnit's The Mother of All Questions.

"The hardest thing to reconcile is that just because you have good intentions, [that] doesn't mean it's your time to have a voice," said Evans to Ugwu in a conversation transcribed by E! News.

Meanwhile, Slate, who has not spoken about this breakup, had stated in the past that she was gobsmacked that she fell in love with Evans. She mentioned to the New York Magazine that while she joined a lengthy list of Hollywood ex-lovers including Jessica Biel and Minka Kelly, Evans treated her with respect and behaved like a gentleman every time that she was around him. The couple met when they filmed Gifted in 2016.

"He's really vulnerable, and he's really straightforward. He's like primary colors. He has beautiful, big, strong emotions, and he's really sure of them," said Slate in a 2017 interview with Vulture following the couple's first split.

Other High-Profile Breakups

Evans and Slate are not the only relationship casualties in 2018. Rapper Logic and his wife, Jessica Andrea, have been reported to have split after their marriage of two years. Logic's rival, Joyner Lucas, has been catcalling the pair on social media to confirm if the rumors are true.

Another couple that called it quits was Anderson Cooper and his longtime boyfriend, Benjamin Maisiani. On March 15, Cooper revealed that they have been separated for some time but remain friends. Cooper added that he considers Maisiani family.

Television personality Amber Rose also split from rapper 21 Savage after a two-year relationship. Also, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik shocked social media when they released separate breakup messages on March 13.
