Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal nuptial is less than two months away. However, details about Markle's wedding dress have been kept under wraps.

Although Kensington Palace recently shared details about the wedding cake as well as the wedding invitations, there is not a lot that is known about Markle's wedding outfit, until now. Royal expert and author Katie Nicholl has revealed new information about the former Suits actress' wedding dress.

Markle's Outfit 'Unlikely' To Upstage Kate Middleton's

Markle and Prince Harry are set to tie the knot in the St. George's Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle on May 19, and comparisons will surely be made to Prince William and Kate Middleton's 2011 wedding. However, Nicholl recently revealed that Markle does not intend to upstage her future sister-in-law with her wedding outfit.

"There have been reports that [Meghan's] considering spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on a wedding dress," the author said.

"I think that's incredibly unlikely. Kate Middleton's dress cost 150,000 pounds. It was her parents, Carol and Michael Middleton, who paid for that bill. I think it was very unlikely that Meghan would spend more than that and in doing so try and upstage a future queen," she added.

Who Will Markle Wear?

According to US Weekly, Markle's wedding outfit designer has already been chosen and the first round of fittings already took place last week.

There has been a lot of speculation over who will design Markle's wedding ensemble with the likes of Roland Mouret, Inbal Dror, Jenny Packham, and Alexander McQueen among the contenders.

However, Alexander McQueen is a favorite on online betting websites. McQueen's Sarah Burton also designed Middleton's wedding outfit. Betting on the British designer intensified so much that Betfair even suspended betting on Markle's wedding gown designer.

"We previously had Ralph and Russo as the 2/1 [favorites] and there's also been a lot of talk of Erdem as a big front-runner," a Betfair rep said in a statement to Harpers Bazaar last month. "However, we've now suspended this market after seeing some interesting betting on Alexander McQueen this morning who went from 16/1 to 8/1 in a very short space of time."

However, like her future sister-in-law, Markle would want to keep her wedding outfit and her designer a secret until she steps out of her bridal car to attend her wedding ceremony. And, Markle shouldn't have a problem with that. After all, she did keep her relationship with Harry a secret for months.
