Jay-Z is shedding more light on the theme of his upcoming album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, with the release of a new Samsung commercial where the rapper explains the premise of the song Oceans.

In the clips, Jay-Z tells Rick Rubin, Timbaland, Pharrell and Swizz Beatz, who all contributed music to the album, that the song uses the symbolism of the sea and its ability to draw in and wash away objects with its waves.

"Back again to that duality it sounds like the celebration of where we are now, on some big yacht and throwing champagne in the water, but the undertone of the thing is that this same water is the water that brought us here, you know, originally as slaves," Jay-Z says. "So it has this whole duality in how we are rewriting history."

The Brooklyn rapper even showcases the theme of the song by rapping some of the lyrics and explaining them as he goes along.

"Anti Santa María, 'talking about these [slavery] stories', the only Christopher we acknowledge here is Wallace, 'who is Biggies Smalls', Jay-Z said. "Silk and fleeces lay on my Jesus [necklace], oh my God I hope you'll don't get sea sick. 'We playing with the theme now, being sea sick or seeing these things and being jealous of it.'"

Even after working with Jay-Z for several years, both Pharrell and Timbaland are visibly amazed by Jay-Z's lyrical prowess.

"I Hope they don't get see/sea sick," Pharrell exclaims, marveling at Jay-Z's clever use of the word sea to make two very different points.

As time draws nearer to the release of Magna Carta Holy Grail, more information is being released about the mostly secretive project.

Yesterday, the lyrics for Ocean and the Beyonce collaboration Part II (On The Run) were released as well as the full track and guest list for the album. Along with Beyonce, Rick Ross, Frank Ocean and Justin Timberlake are also on the short list of features on Jay-Z's 12th solo album.
