Tensions are starting to boil over for the characters of Falling Skies.

Notoriously incompatible leader Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) and ex-con John Pope (Colin Cunningham) must survive the skitters - and each other - in the upcoming "Search and Recovery."

Tom and Pope appear to be the only survivors of the "At All Costs" plane crash. Shot down by Espheni spacecraft, the duo are alone in the wilderness with limited ammunition and the looming threat of a Skitter attack.

"These are two guys who just don't like each other," Wyle said of Tom and Pope, according to TV Fanatic. "They stick together out of a sort of mutual need for each other's skill set but if they are left to their own devices or they are isolated for any length of time, there's no getting around their inherent differences. The tension that's always at a low simmer tends to boil over every once in awhile."

Teasers of the upcoming episode shows Pope and Tom beating the tar out of each other before apparently gearing up to fight an unseen threat.

"[Tom and Pope] just don't back down and when they go at it they go at it all out," Wyle told TV Fanatic. "If it weren't for an exterior force pulling them apart it would end with one of them dead."

"There's only one thing I can't stand more than you, Mason," Pope can be heard saying in the clip. "And that's Skitters."

Hopefully their mutual hatred of the alien invaders can keep the two men from killing each other off.
