Now that Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan have announced their separation, the world has been wondering what caused the two to part ways after almost nine years of marriage.

Channing Opens Up About His Relationship With Jenna

Well, fans might just be able to get closure thanks to an interview Tatum did with People back in 2015. Though the interview took place years before they called it quits, it might just be a clue as to why they've disconnected after these years.

In 2015, People asked the 21 Jump Street star how he manages to balance his career and family life. Tatum admitted that he wasn't doing well. The 37-year-old further said that being a high-profile celebrity in Hollywood can definitely be overwhelming and made him feel miserable.

"I really like the challenge but I would like things to get a little slower; that would be nice. I wish I could slow down slightly. But I have no other option. I can't not live in the moment," the actor explained.

The Tatums Call It Quits

As per reports, the Tatums shocked fans when they took to Instagram on Monday, April 2, and disclosed their decision to separate. The former couple both posted a heartfelt letter to their followers stating that the decision to go their separate ways was amicable and that they will always love each other and continue to be dedicated parents to their 4-year-old daughter, Everly.

Channing and Jenna met back in 2006 on the set of the film Step Up. The two have been together since and tied the knot in July 2009.

Although the two have now confirmed their split, a source close to the duo claims that their relationship seems to have turned into a friendship and they are still living together at the moment.

"They haven't been 'together' for a while. They are best friends and still support each other and go to each other's events and live in the same house," the source said

A close friend of the two also revealed that there was no drama or fight between them and that they appear to be better apart than together.

The pair was last spotted together at the 2018 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards with their daughter, Everly, in March. Hopefully this means they would eventually decide to reconcile.
