Kendrick Lamar joined the breakout R&B crooner for the performance. It was Lamar's second time on the stage, after he performed B***h Don't Killy My Vibe with Erykah Badu earlier in the show.

Miguel walked away with the BET Award for Best Male R&B Artist at the show. He won the 2012 BET Award for Best Collaboration via his guest appearance on rapper Wale's Lotus Flower Bomb. Miguel also won a Grammy earlier this year in the Best R&B Song category.

The Los Angeles, CA native stepped onto the music scene in 210 with the release of his debut album All I Want Is You. His sophomore record, Kaleidoscope Dream, was released in 2012 and has sold over a million copies since its debut.
