Cynthia Bailey shocked fans when she said she underwent a surgery to remove a tumor. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star didn’t reveal her medical status until after her operation.

Cynthia Bailey's Health Scare

Bailey stated in an interview that she was diagnosed with a lipoma tumor after she saw a strange lump on her back.

“At first, I thought I had been bitten by something, or it was just back fat,” said Bailey. “A couple of weeks later, I noticed that it was still there and seemed to be growing.”

Bailey then went to the doctor who told her that she had a lipoma, which is described as a tumor inside of the immune system. Bailey said she was afraid instantly and didn’t waste time in researching it online.

“[I] was blown away by the photos of the worst cases in particular,” said Bailey. “I was scared because as soon as I heard the word tumor, I immediately thought cancer.”

She said she was scheduled for an operation to get rid of the tumor, which was not cancerous.

“Surgery went well, however it went much longer than expected because the tumor was embedded very deeply in my back and partially under a muscle,” said Bailey. “It was larger than expected.”

While she kept the news from fans, she did tell them that she went to the doctor after a health concern over the weekend. She reassured her followers that she is just fine.

She thanked her fans and followers for their support on Instagram Wednesday.

 

'RHOA' Drama Still Going Strong

Now that her health scare is over, Bailey can focus on the upcoming reunion special for The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Part one is set to air Sunday and Bailey has already spilled tea on what fans can expect to see. From Kim Zolciak Biermann’s battles with almost everyone to Porsha Williams and Kandi Burruss possibly burying their drama, the reunion will certainly be an explosive one.

Bailey herself had quite a dramatic season as she found love after her split with her now ex-husband Peter Thomas. While she started dating a new guy, Will Jones, there were lots of rumors surrounding his past, including speculation that he had a secret girlfriend. It looks like Bailey and Jones are still going strong after Bailey shared her thoughts on the drama.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on Bravo Sundays at 8 p.m. ET or 7 p.m. CT.
