The Hills star Heidi Montag opens up about her near-death experience that happened back in 2010. She reveals that she underwent 10 surgeries in one day that almost killed her.

Dead For A Minute

Speaking to Paper on Thursday about the perils of fame, being a new mother, and her life after The Hills, Montag shockingly admitted that the plastic surgeries nearly killed her.

"Spencer [Pratt] thought he lost me. I died for a minute," she admitted.

Montag's security guards reportedly even called her husband to warn him that Montag might not pull through.

"[They] told him, 'Heidi's heart stopped. She's not going to make it. And I easily could've. Cutting yourself up isn't something I'd recommend," she recalled.

The reality TV star struggled with body image issues for years, so she resorted to numerous plastic surgeries during her time on the hit show to try to "fix" her face and give herself an hourglass figure.

The 10 surgeries all done in one day in 2010 was a big news at the time and even featured as a prominent storyline on The Hills. It led to an argument between Montag and her mother and subsequently, the two didn't speak with one another for several years.

Although she was defiant at the time, Montag now admits that the experience was the lowest moment of her young life.

"I had to look at myself in the mirror every day healing, and be like, 'What did I do to myself? How did I get here? What is going on?'" she said.

What's Really Important

Montag and Pratt welcomed their first child, Gunner Stone, in October of last year. The mother of one realizes now that she had to hit rock bottom to understand that family is what's truly important in life.

Montag considers herself a brand new person as a mother to Gunner and says that her child has given her a whole new perspective on life.

Her co-stars in The Hills and fellow mother Kristin Cavallari recently revealed that Montag and Pratt were the reason the show's reunion didn't happen.

Focusing On The Future

The couple, collectively known as "Speidi" and the supposed archvillains of the hit show, recently launched their own podcast titled "Make Speidi Famous Again." It featured Cavallari as the first guest.

Cavallari, meanwhile, is starring in her own reality show Very Cavallari. The Hills alum warned fans that the show won't be anything like her other reality television appearances. She said that viewers will see more of her serious side as she tackles everyday issues with her business.
