Solo: A Star Wars Story is weeks away from its release. Now, there's a brand-new behind-the-scenes featurette for fans to drool over.

The Smuggler's Journey

This latest video, entitled "Becoming Solo," is packed with glorious new footage from the movie, including references to almost everything from the infamous smuggler's lengthy history. There's action, swagger, and suspense aplenty, with contributions from those behind the project.

Director Ron Howard, who took over mid-shoot from departing helmers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who left the project over creative differences, has promised that the story will include how Han meets BFF and copilot Chewbacca, how he gets his beloved ship, and how he comes across the suave Lando Calrissian for the first time.

As Donald Glover, who plays Calrissian, noted, this is Han Solo before he turned into the man fans know and love.

"We're meeting Han right before he becomes the Han that we know," he explained.

A Scene-Stealing Cad And A Difficult Wookiee

This may be Solo's movie, but Glover's Calrissian is fast becoming the standout element, thanks to his variety of stylish capes and his scene-stealing appearances in trailers and marketing material alike.

Becoming Solo showcases even more of his swagger, confirming once and for all, via the smooth kiss of an alien hand, that he has always been the coolest gangster in the galaxy.

As for Chewbacca, Ehrenreich's Solo struggles with his mouth-garbling name and insists upon shortening it.

"You're gonna need a nickname because I ain't saying that every time," he quips, thereby creating "Chewie."

Calrissian, meanwhile, isn't pushed by Solo's own name, even if, judging by this new footage, he's a bit of a war hero.

A Brave New World

The latest featurette paints a better picture of the movie's star-scattered galaxy in splendid detail. The titular character's home planet of Corellia, where the Empire constructs its awe-inspiring ships, is particularly gorgeous. The film is expected to give a sense of how the Empire came to be, as well as detailing Solo's own origin story.

A variety of critters abound, including a huge, centipede-esque alien creature that Han himself tussles with.

Mostly, though, it's just a lot of Han being Han, which is what fans want from the upcoming movie.

"He does these stupid things that should never work. And they do! And he does it with bravado!" actress Emilia Clarke, who plays the mysterious Qi'ra says of Solo at one point.

It's His Time To Shine

Howard promises a story that is distinct from anything fans have seen in the extended Star Wars universe, and most of the featured characters struggle to survive.

Front and center, though, will be Ehrenreich's Solo. The film isn't named after him for no reason.

"He's the most exciting character in this saga for me. You don't know what he's going to do. He's reckless," screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan said.

Indeed, this new footage shows Solo jumping on top of a moving train, flying the Falcon through a massive storm, and engaging in battles with the Empire.

Based on this new teaser, there's much to anticipate in the upcoming spinoff movie.
